🎥 My Experience Interviewing for a Content Specialist Role at MBS
Recently, I had the opportunity to interview for a Content Specialist position at Marina Bay Sands (MBS). Although I wasn't selected in the end, the experience itself was a valuable one—filled with learning moments and personal growth that I genuinely appreciate. 🌟
The application process kicked off with a video submission—something I found both exciting and challenging. It required me to craft a concise yet creative video introduction, which gave me the chance to showcase my personality, content thinking, and presentation skills. While I’m no stranger to being behind the camera, putting together a video tailored for a potential employer added a new layer of pressure—but also growth.
Preparing for the interview pushed me to reflect deeply on my strengths, past work, and vision for content that resonates. I researched their brand, reviewed their existing content strategies, and imagined how I could contribute to enhancing their storytelling. This kind of preparation alone made the process worthwhile—it sharpened my thinking and gave me clarity on how I want to position myself in the content space.
The interview itself, though brief, was an insightful exchange. However, I do wish there had been a bit more time allocated for a deeper discussion. With such a fast-paced format, it felt like there wasn’t quite enough space to expand on ideas or engage meaningfully on strategy—which I believe is key when it comes to roles that rely on creativity and alignment.
That said, I appreciate the professionalism of the interviewers and how structured the overall process was. It’s clear that MBS maintains high standards in how they assess talent, and being part of that process—even briefly—was a confidence boost and a learning opportunity.
While the outcome wasn’t what I hoped for, I walked away from the experience more prepared, more self-aware, and more motivated. And sometimes, that’s the real win. 🙌
To anyone preparing for interviews in the content or creative space: take every experience as a chance to refine your story, challenge your thinking, and grow—regardless of the final result.
